Accuracy Tracker 3.0 (2014)
|
The Stassen Accuracy Formula has been the accepted technique of rating prediction accuracy for 20 years now. In our inaugural season (2012), we placed higher than every major magazine and website, while last season we again placed in the Top 3. Stassen only releases its annual ratings in December with the completion of the regular season. Here at Pick Six Previews, we have devised an algorithm that closely emulates the Stassen formula: Accuracy Tracker 3.0. Now we are able to project how the accuracy standings will look like. Using a combination of completed games (win-loss) and remaining schedules, we provide our best projection possible.
***For each conference below, the light blue box is the input projection we are currently using. That number gets rated against everyone's preseason prediction data, and produces a Stassen score. Lower scores are better; a ZERO represents a perfect prediction.

- WEEK 12 NOTES -
Accuracy Tracker 3.0 now has the 5 Power Conferences factoring in, PLUS the additional non-AQ Conferences. Most of the inputs used here are the conference standings as of 11/21/14. We are 10 games in, so there is still some room for changes. A lot will be solved tomorrow (11/22) and many of the ties that I have built-in currently will become clearer tomorrow. If you'd like me to run another set of rankings or a certain scenario, contact me on Twitter or at PickSixPreviews@gmail.com and I'll run the numbers for you.
Some spots that are especially unclear: ACC Coastal SEC West PAC-12 South AAC Mountain West (Mountain Division) Sun Belt We used a combination of the completed games (win-loss) and remaining schedules to best gauge the projected finish of each conference race. Each week we will update the system with new data. Apologies for the poor design, but here it's the numbers that matter! Below, the light blue boxes are the inputs we are currently using, while everyone's original predictions are listed. Each division and conference scores are summed and bold underneath: |
