ACCURACY TRACKER 2.0
November 26th, 2013
The Stassen Accuracy Formula has been the accepted technique of rating prediction accuracy for 20 years now. Last year, in our inaugural season, we placed higher than every major magazine and website! Stassen only releases its annual ratings in December with the completion of the regular season. Here at Pick Six Previews, we have devised an algorithm that closely emulates the Stassen formula: Accuracy Tracker 2.0
***For each conference below, the light blue box is the input projection we are currently using, and that number gets rated against everyone's prediction data, and produces a Stassen score. A low number is better, as a ZERO represents a perfect prediction.

- WEEK 13 NOTES -
Accuracy Tracker 2.0 now has the 5 Power Conferences factoring in, PLUS the additional non-AQ Conferences. Most of the inputs used here are the conference standings as of 11/26/13. With just one or two games left, these are pretty much the final set. While our projections are similar, we figured we'd use an outside source to eliminate a perceived bias with our inputs.
Phil Steele has a significant lead overall, while Gold Sheet has the top BCS ratings right now. The last piece to go in will be any ties that cancel out points. This process takes very long to evaluate, so we will wait until the standings are set to factor those in. Below, the light blue boxes are the inputs we are currently using, while everyone's original predictions are listed. Each division and conference scores are summed and bold underneath: |
